Abuja, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja following his attendance at the inauguration ceremony of Ghana’s new President, John Dramani Mahama, in Accra.
During the event, President Tinubu called for stronger unity among African nations, emphasizing the importance of collaboration to achieve the shared vision of their founding fathers.
“African sister nations must never harm each other, even in the face of disagreements,” Tinubu said. “We will not allow outsiders to disrupt our unity or hurt us. Together, ECOWAS can address challenges like poverty, youth unemployment, instability, and insurgency, which hinder our progress.”
The President’s trip to Ghana came shortly after his Christmas vacation in Lagos, during which he also commissioned several projects in Anambra State. His presence at the inauguration reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to regional cooperation and support for democratic transitions.
President Tinubu’s remarks reflect his administration’s dedication to fostering peace, economic development, and unity across the West African subregion.
