President Bola Tinubu has appointed eight new permanent secretaries in the federal civil service to fill existing and upcoming vacancies across states and geopolitical zones.
The announcement was made on Monday by the President’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, who stated that the appointments followed a rigorous selection process recommended by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
The newly appointed permanent secretaries include Onwusoro Maduka Ihemelandu (Abia), Ndiomu Ebiogeh Philip (Bayelsa), Anuma Ogbonnaya Nlia (Ebonyi), Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam (Enugu), Kalba Danjuma Usman (Gombe), Usman Salihu Aminu (Kebbi), Oyekunle Patience Nwakuso (Rivers), and Nadungu Gagare (Kaduna).
This marks the second batch of permanent secretaries appointed by President Tinubu, following the first set named in June from states including Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Jigawa, Ondo, Zamfara, and zones like the South-East and South-South.
President Tinubu urged the appointees to exhibit diligence, commitment, and innovation in their roles to enhance service delivery and national development.
