The Ogun State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the alleged killing of betting agent Anuoluwapo Abiodun by a police officer.
Anuoluwapo Abiodun, a Moshood Abiola Polytechnic graduate, was reportedly shot at the entrance of his shop in the Imala Elega area by a police officer suspected of being intoxicated.
Witnesses reported that the officer fled the scene with the assistance of colleagues, who fired shots to disperse the protesting youths.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and stated that the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, has ordered a thorough investigation and is engaging with all relevant stakeholders to ensure accountability.
The incident has sparked outrage and protests from the community, with residents demanding justice and a comprehensive probe into the circumstances surrounding Abiodun’s death.
