Oki: Obasa’s Impeachment Is to Hold Him For His Actions

APC, NIGERIA – Fouad Oki, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has justified the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, calling it essential to hold him accountable for his actions.

Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, Oki stated that Obasa had begun acting like an “emperor,” and his behavior over the past few months indicated that his removal was inevitable. He recounted an incident in which Obasa kept the Governor and other dignitaries waiting for over four hours, without offering any apologies or reasons, an act Oki described as a clear example of his self-perceived authority.

According to Oki, the impeachment was in the best interest of President Bola Tinubu, ensuring that Lagos remains central to his political leadership. He revealed that the issue had been brewing for some time, and the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) had alerted the President before the matter was addressed.

Oki further emphasized that Obasa’s removal was necessary to restore order and prevent any further instances of his “irresponsible attitude” from undermining the state’s leadership.
