BEDC ends MD, Achife’s tenure, appoints successor.

The Board of Directors of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has concluded the appointment of the organization’s Managing Director, Mr Kingsley Achife.

The company has also designated Francis Agoha as the Acting Managing Director, effective as of May 31. This development was communicated through an internal memorandum dated May 31, 2024, signed by IBEDC management. “The Board wishes to communicate to the staff that it has opted not to extend the contract of the current Managing Director, Engineer Kingsley Achife.

The Board expresses its sincere appreciation to Engineer Kingsley Achife for his contributions to the company and for establishing the groundwork for the ongoing transformation. In view of this decision, the Board is pleased to reveal the appointment of the most senior executive, Engineer Francis Agoha, as the Acting Managing Director of IBEDC. Engineer Francis Agoha will take on leadership responsibilities immediately and collaborate closely with the Board to ensure a seamless transition. The Board remains dedicated to providing dependable electricity services to our customers and stakeholders.

We are confident that this change in leadership will expedite our progression towards sustainable growth, enhanced performance, and a successful transition,” the memo stated.
