Governor Abiodun – Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has announced plans to increase the number of interns under the Ogun Teach initiative from 4,000 to 6,000. This move aims to address the teacher-to-student ratio in the state’s education sector and ensure equitable access to quality education.
The governor shared this update at his Oke-Mosan office while hosting the Teach For All and Teach For Nigeria management teams. He revealed that wages for Ogun Teach interns have been increased to N80,000 to attract and retain skilled educators.
According to Governor Abiodun, the Ogun Teach program has already employed over 4,000 teachers, with 2,000 securing permanent employment. This initiative has significantly improved teacher deployment in rural areas and is part of the government’s Education Revitalization Agenda, which includes policies like the Learners Identification Number to track students’ progress.
“We declared an emergency in the education sector when we assumed office due to the challenges we met on the ground. Our initiatives, including Ogun Teach, have been pivotal in revitalizing the sector,” Abiodun said.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to integrating qualified fellows from the Teach For Nigeria program into the state workforce.

The Ogun State Government’s proactive approach underscores its dedication to building a robust and inclusive educational system for the state’s future.
