Ogun State— a suspected cult leader named Abiodun John was apprehended by the Ajuwon division of the police force during routine stop-and-search operations along the Akute/Olambe road.
The 25-year-old suspect was driving a Venza car with the registration number URSMOT AUTOS 4657DLA when he was arrested at around 3:30 PM on Thursday. The arrest took place following a tip-off from the public, leading officers to pursue and eventually stop the vehicle in front of the Osaro Mobile Filling Station.
During the search of the vehicle, law enforcement authorities discovered two locally-made pistols and three live cartridges. While Abiodun John was successfully captured, another suspect managed to evade arrest and remains at large.
The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed these details in a statement , emphasizing that investigations are ongoing and the case will be transferred to the SCID ABK for further inquiry after initial assessments.
