Kigali, Rwanda — The Super Eagles of Nigeria have commenced preparations for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda’s Amavubi, with an intense gym session in Kigali.
The squad began their workout on Monday night at the Radisson Blu Hotel, where six players have already settled into camp. These include Victor Osimhen, Tolu Arokodare, Bruno Onyemaechi, Papa Daniel, Kayode Bankole, and Amas Obasogie.
Providing updates on the squad, the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, confirmed that additional players such as Moses Simon, Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika, Jordan Torunarigha, Stanley Nwabali, Samuel Chukwueze, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Igoh Ogbu are expected to join later tonight.
The Super Eagles’ first official training session is scheduled for Tuesday night, marking the beginning of intensive preparations for their match against Rwanda.
In total, 23 players are expected in camp ahead of both the Rwanda clash and the upcoming matchday six fixture against Zimbabwe’s Warriors.
The matchday five encounter will take place on Friday at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, where the three-time African champions will be seeking their first victory after recording three draws and one loss in their opening four qualifiers.
The team remains focused on securing a positive result as they continue their quest for a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
