Xcel360 Awards N100,000 and Mentorship to FUOYE’s Best Graduating Engineering Student, Offers Scholarship Guidance to Six Others

FUOYE – In a reassuring expression of commitment toward future generations, Xcel360, a scholarship guidance platform, through the Alumni of the Faculty of Engineering at Federal University Oye-Ekiti rewards excellence in academics. The best-graduating student from the Faculty of Engineering will also receive a cash award of N100,000 sponsored by graduate members of the faculty, with complete free mentorship. Six other best-graduating students from each department in the faculty will be offered free scholarship guidance through Xcel360.

This is a commitment to celebrate with the students who have struggled in pursuit of academic excellence. A prize of N100,000 to the best-graduating student is not a financial boost but a recognition of hard work and commitment. Added to this is mentorship, which provides personalized support that will help them navigate this often-complex world of scholarships and opportunities.

The best-graduating students in various engineering departments receive guiding mentorship for scholarship guidance and benefit from the wealth of resources at Xcel360, thus positioning them well in their pursuits for further studies and career paths. This all-rounded approach underlines the very core of the platform’s mission: to equip students with the necessary tools, information, and support for success.

Behind this is Johnson Alabi, founder of Xcel360, an alumnus of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at FUOYE, the best-graduating student in his class in 2019/2020, and a one-time Student Union President; he knows what students go through. “This means a lot to me personally,” he said. “I’ve walked in their shoes, and I know what a struggle it is to make sure academics get paid for and deal with pressure from everyone saying you need to succeed. It’s our way of saying: ‘We see you. We believe in you. And we’re here for you.'”

The involvement of the alumni lends such a very human touch to the initiative. These people have trod those corridors, faced similar challenges, and are now giving back to help lift the next generation. It was their underwriting of this N100,000 prize, always reminding us that in our lives, the power of community pays for it matters.

This initiative is, therefore, an oasis of hope for many students. At a time when economic challenges, coupled with limited opportunities, make it increasingly difficult for students to pursue an education, programs like this do provide the needed encouragement and support. It is not just about money; it is about the message that hard work is recognized and that there are people out there rooting for their success.

I like to add that during my stay on campus, I continue to receive tremendous support through the recognition of the best-graduating members of the faculty. This exclusive inspiration comes from the notice board in the faculty—every name on the board motivates me through your hard work.
