West Ham Sign Brazilian Winger Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras

West Ham United have announced the signing of Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras for £25.5 million, on a five-year contract.

The 18-year-old becomes the first signing under new manager Julen Lopetegui, who took charge last month. Guilherme’s transfer will be finalized on Friday, coinciding with the official opening of the Premier League transfer window, pending international clearance and a work permit.

“I’m very happy to be signing with West Ham United, a club that trusts my work,” Guilherme said on the club’s website.

Guilherme made his debut for Palmeiras at 17 in 2023 and has competed in this season’s Copa Libertadores. He and his family were impressed with the project presented by West Ham.

The young winger expressed his eagerness to learn from Lopetegui, who replaced David Moyes as manager at the end of last season. “The Premier League is the best league in the world. I believe I’ll improve a lot here with the entire staff at West Ham, which is crucial for my development,” he added.
