25 Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Choir members have been abducted by gunmen along Owo/Ifon/Benin Expressway in Ondo State
The victims are said to be members of the CAC Oke Igan, Akure, the state capital.
The abducting was reportedly carried out at about 3 pm on Friday around Elegbeka village while the commuters were on their way to Ifon for a funeral.
Public Relations Officer, Ondo State Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya confirmed the incident.
She noted that the abduction was reported to the police and that an empty bus with inscription of ‘CAC’ was abandoned by the roadside around Elegbeka.
The public relations officer said men of the anti-kidnapping Squad of the Command have been drafted to the area to rescue the victims and apprehend the culprits.
