Abeokuta, Ogun State — A 29-year-old mother, Mrs. Gloria Peter Ajine, was brutally killed while harvesting vegetables on her farm in Ilewo Orile, Abeokuta North Local Government Area.
Gloria, described by her family as hardworking and devoted, had gone to her farm in the afternoon but never returned home. Hours later, her lifeless body was discovered in a pool of blood, leaving her family devastated.
Her husband, Mr. Peter Ajine, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss. “I still can’t believe she’s gone. Gloria was the light of our family. She worked tirelessly to provide for us and our son. Who could do such a thing? She didn’t deserve this.”
Ajine described his wife as loving and full of dreams, adding that her death had created an unbearable void. Holding their one-year-old child, he made an emotional plea for justice.
“I have lost my wife, my partner, and my best friend. Our son has lost his mother. This act of violence is unspeakable, and we demand that the perpetrators be brought to justice,” he said.
Efforts to reach Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, for comments were unsuccessful, as she did not respond to calls.
The tragedy has sparked calls for increased security measures to protect rural communities and ensure justice for Gloria’s family.
