Tinubu meets Lagos lawmakers amid assembly leadership crisis

Nigeria:  President Bola Tinubu met with members of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Wednesday at the State House, amidst an ongoing leadership crisis within the Assembly

The meeting, which was held behind closed doors, included Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda. Although details of the discussions were not disclosed, a participant revealed that the issues were “resolved”. Following the meeting, lawmakers were seen singing and applauding the President as he returned to his office. The meeting is believed to be connected to the leadership crisis rocking the Lagos House of Assembly, which has been plagued by controversies, including a recent N5 billion vehicle purchase that deepened the crisis.
