The family of Senator Abu Ibrahim has refuted circulating rumors claiming the elder statesman, who served as the representative for Katsina South Senatorial District in the Senate, has passed away.
In a statement released on Sunday by Muhammad Abu Ibrahim on behalf of the family, it was clarified that the rumors, which began circulating on the afternoon of Saturday, June 1, 2024, are false.
“Our attention has been drawn to rumors of the death of our dear father and elder statesman, Senator Abu Ibrahim, which began mid-afternoon on Saturday, June 1, 2024. The family wishes to state that the information is untrue; Senator Abu Ibrahim is alive and in good health,” the statement affirmed.
The family expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of concern and prayers from friends, associates, and well-wishers who sought confirmation of the senator’s well-being.
“May Almighty Allah continue to ease our affairs and grant us all mercy when our end comes,” the statement concluded.
Senator Ibrahim, a prominent figure in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is a close political ally of President Bola Tinubu.
