Paris, France — Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over AS Monaco in the French Super Cup on Sunday, thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Ousmane Dembélé.
The match, held at a packed stadium, saw the Ligue 1 champions dominate possession and create numerous opportunities. PSG registered 27 attempts on goal, with nine on target, but struggled to find a breakthrough until the dying moments.
The decisive goal came when Fabian Ruiz delivered a precise pass across the face of the goal, allowing Dembélé to slot the ball inside the far post and secure the victory.
Sunday’s triumph marked PSG’s third consecutive French Super Cup title, adding to their dominance after winning both the Ligue 1 championship and the French Cup last season.
AS Monaco, last season’s Ligue 1 runners-up, fought hard to keep PSG at bay but were ultimately undone by the late strike.
The victory reinforces PSG’s position as the leading force in French football as they continue to build on their recent successes.
