President Tinubu replaces Maryam Shetty with Mahmud as ministerial nominee

President Bola Tinubu has reached out to the senate over the withdrawal of the nomination of Maryam Shetty as a ministerial nominee, replacing the former with Mairiga Mahmud.

The President also placed in Festus Keyamo’s name as a ministerial nominee from Delta state

This was revealed when the President of the Senate, Godswill Akabio read out a letter by the president at Friday’s plenary session

Maryam Shetty who hails from Kano State, was initially nominated among the second batch of 19 additional ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation.

Reacting to the development via her Twitter handle, Maryam thanked President Tinubu for finding her worthy to be nominated as a minister in the first instance.

Meanwhile, the Senate has completed the screening of the first 28 Ministerial nominees.

Their names were submitted to the senate on July 27.
