Police arrest suspected car thieves in Katsina

Katsina state, Nigeria: The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended two suspected car thieves and recovered a stolen green Toyota Corolla LE.

Mubarak Kabir and Adamu Hashim, both residents of Kano State, were arrested during a routine patrol in Birnin Kuka village, Mashi Local Government Area.

According to the police, the suspects attempted to bribe the officers with N1 million to evade arrest, but the offer was rejected. Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was stolen from Abuja. The police recovered several exhibits.

The State Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, commended the officers for their professionalism and commitment to integrity. The police command reiterated its dedication to protecting lives and property, maintaining a standard of service rooted in discipline, accountability, and respect for human rights. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement.
