PDP Governors Applaud Adeleke on Osun LG Election Victory

Abuja, Nigeria  —  The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum has lauded Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, for the successful conduct of the state’s Local Government Council Elections.

The commendation came in a statement issued on Sunday by the Forum’s Director-General, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, under the leadership of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.

Highlighting the significance of the PDP’s overwhelming victory in the elections, Governor Mohammed described it as a testament to the administration’s dedication to good governance and democratic principles.

“This landslide victory underscores the people’s confidence in Governor Adeleke, the PDP, and the administration’s commitment to transparent and people-oriented governance,” Governor Mohammed stated.

He further urged the newly elected local government officials to adopt an inclusive approach, fostering peace and unity within the state.

“In governance, victory must translate to service. The elected chairmen and councillors should embrace all stakeholders and promote tolerance to sustain the existing harmony in Osun State,” he added.

The Forum applauded Governor Adeleke for prioritizing grassroots development, youth empowerment, and women’s inclusion which are key pillars that contributed to the PDP’s electoral success.

“Governor Adeleke’s efforts in strengthening local governance and championing empowerment programs have made a tangible difference. We trust he will continue to guide the newly elected officials in delivering meaningful progress to the people,” the statement read.

The election was described as a clear referendum on Adeleke’s leadership, reflecting the electorate’s trust in the PDP’s vision for the state.

“In a democracy, power ultimately resides with the people. The outcome of this election reaffirms Osun citizens’ belief in Governor Adeleke and the PDP as the vehicle for progressive governance,” the statement added.

The Forum also commended the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission for conducting a credible and transparent election, ensuring the people’s mandate was upheld.

The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of the Forum’s commitment to supporting democratic governance and fostering development at all levels.
