Nigeria _ The joint Task Force, Operation Fansan Yamma, has pledged to wipe out Lakurawa militants and other bandit groups operating in the North West.
Major General Oluyinka Soyele, Theatre Commander of Operation Fansan Yamma, made this commitment during a visit to troops in Sokoto State, emphasizing the operation’s focus on restoring peace and security in the region.
General Soyele ordered the troops to flush out the militants from their strongholds in Gudu, Tangaza, and other affected areas. The Nigerian Army has reassured its commitment to preventing terrorist groups from destabilizing the country’s peace and security structure. Local authorities, including Alhaji Buhari Ahmad Gudula, Chairman of Gudu Local Council, have expressed relief and support for the operation, hoping it will bring an end to the Lakurawa group’s activities, which include animal rustling and other criminal acts under the guise of Islam.
