Death toll increases as California wildfires continue for a fifth day.

California—The devastating California wildfires have resulted in the tragic death toll rising to eleven, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner on Friday.

As the wildfires continue to ravage the state into the fifth consecutive day on Saturday, it is anticipated that the number of casualties will continue to increase. The destructive fires have already consumed over 12,300 homes and buildings since the outbreak earlier in the week.

Amid the escalating crisis, additional evacuations were ordered in affected areas, including Mandeville Canyon. Whisker Labs, a company that monitors electrical activity, reported a surge in faults along the Los Angeles power grid in the regions where three major wildfires – namely the Eaton, Palisades, and Hurst Fires – are currently burning.

Bob Marshall, the company’s chief executive, disclosed to Fox News Digital that they detected significant increases in faults preceding the outbreaks. Faults typically occur when tree limbs touch power lines or wires come into contact due to windy conditions, potentially causing a spark that could ignite a fire.

While Marshall noted the detection of faults in areas where wildfires erupted, he stopped short of definitively linking these faults to the fires themselves.
