Ilara-Mokin, Nigeria — The 2025 Ondo Auto Rally is set to draw over 100 participants to the racing tracks of Ilara-Mokin, adjacent to the renowned Smokin’ Hills Golf Course, on April 19.
Organizers of the eighth edition of the rally have promised an exhilarating display of speed, skill, and innovation, featuring off-road challenges on rugged terrains, high-speed motorcycle races, and the much-anticipated X-Kart series, which has become a signature event in Nigerian motorsports.
Speaking ahead of the rally, Adeoye Ojuoko, President of Work and Play Promotions, the organizing body, emphasized the growing national appeal of the event.
“This year’s edition will attract racers, bikers, and automotive enthusiasts from across Nigeria,” Ojuoko stated.
He also highlighted the Ondo State Government’s support, noting that the rally has been recognized as a flagship tourism event, aimed at showcasing the state’s natural beauty and cultural heritage to a global audience.
Meanwhile, the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has pledged its backing for the event. The Director-General, Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, commended the rally’s role in advancing the automotive industry, aligning with the council’s national vision of fostering innovation and opportunity.
“The Work and Play team deserves recognition for their commitment to elevating motorsports in Nigeria. This collaboration reinforces our shared goal of positioning Nigeria as a key player in the global motorsport arena,” Osanipin remarked.
With the growing momentum around motorsports in Nigeria, this year’s Ondo Auto Rally promises to be a thrilling and unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike.
