NNPCL Refutes Allegations of presidential interference

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has categorically denied claims of President Bola Tinubu’s interference in its operations, emphasizing that appointments and promotions are strictly based on merit and free from bias .

Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, dismissed allegations made by Prof. Farooq Kperogi, stating that NNPCL’s processes are guided by expertise, business needs, and a commitment to professionalism, rather than ethnic, religious, or political considerations. Soneye highlighted President Tinubu’s administration has introduced transformative policies that have significantly improved the oil and gas sector and the broader Nigerian economy .
