Nigeria: Nigeria is poised to host the first-ever Africa Raw Materials Summit, scheduled to take place from May 20 to 22, 2025, in Abuja.
The summit, organized by the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), aims to bring together key stakeholders from across the globe to exchange ideas and develop strategies for advancing Africa’s raw materials sector.
According to Prof. Nnanyelugo Martin Ike-Muonso, Director General of RMRDC, Africa is endowed with abundant raw materials, but the challenge lies in effectively harnessing these resources for the benefit of the continent and its people. The summit will focus on critical themes such as value addition, industrial development, and sustainable economic growth.
The event is expected to convene over 1,000 experts from 72 countries, providing a unique opportunity for stakeholders to share ideas, forge partnerships, and establish mutually beneficial collaborations that will unlock Africa’s full potential in the raw materials sector.
