The Kano State Police Command has apprehended 19 individuals for various crimes, including armed robbery, cattle rustling, kidnapping, and other banditry-related offenses.
The arrests were announced by the Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, during a press briefing in Kano.
Superintendent Kiyawa attributed the successful arrests to robust crime prevention patrols and effective intelligence gathering.
Recovered exhibits include two AK-47 rifles, one smoke pistol, one pump-action rifle, 26 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, 17 live cartridges, two motor vehicles, 16 rams, and various dangerous weapons and housebreaking tools.
He noted that the investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged in court.
Superintendent Kiyawa also conveyed the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel’s assurance to the public of the command’s commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and property.
