The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has launched a groundbreaking partnership with the Chinese Police to bolster its anti-corruption efforts.
This strategic collaboration, aimed at leveraging advanced technologies and expertise to address various forms of corruption affecting both nations, was formalized at the ICPC boardroom in Abuja.
Mr. Hou Wen Yu, the Counsellor and Police Attaché representing the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, emphasized during the agreement that this partnership would enhance the fight against corruption in both countries.
Dr. Adamu Musa Aliyu, Chairman of the ICPC, highlighted that since its establishment in 2000, the Commission has been at the forefront of Nigeria’s anti-corruption efforts, focusing on investigating and prosecuting corrupt practices in both the public and private sectors, as well as preventing corruption.
Mr. Aliyu noted that the Commission also prioritizes youth mobilization in its efforts. The collaboration with the Chinese Police underscores a commitment to employing innovative approaches to tackle corruption and acknowledges the global nature of this pervasive issue.
