The House of Representatives said there is an urgent need to increase the frequency and validity of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The chairman adhoc committee on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Mrs Regina Akume, made the remark at a public hearing with stakeholders in the Education sector.
Mrs Akume who represents the Gboko/Tarka federal Constituency of Benue State, said if effected, would cushion the effects of the high rate of scarce resources being expended annually by parents and guardians.
The chairman adhoc committee explained that the committee has met with the Board and other relevant stakeholders, where presentations were made, positions taken, and agreements reached would be revealed later.
