Abuja, Nigeria — Dr. Abdullahi Umar-Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has acknowledged that while President Bola Tinubu’s reforms are difficult, they are both necessary and unavoidable for the country’s progress.
Dr. Ganduje made the statement during a reception for Senator Ned Nwoko of Delta North, who recently defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC. The event took place in Abuja, with political figures and supporters in attendance.
Reflecting on the positive outcomes of these reforms, Dr. Ganduje pointed to tangible improvements in the country’s oil production, the revitalization of the nation’s refineries, and significant strides in security.
“If we desire progress for Nigeria, there is no doubt that these reforms are essential,” Dr. Ganduje affirmed.
On Senator Nwoko’s defection, Dr. Ganduje expressed his belief that it represented a major victory for the APC, urging the senator to mobilize key stakeholders in his constituency to ensure the party’s success in securing Delta State.
Senator Nwoko, in his address, explained that his decision to join the APC stemmed from the party’s commitment to internal democracy and President Tinubu’s visionary leadership.
The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, accompanied Senator Nwoko to the APC headquarters during the reception.
