Birmingham, England — Aston Villa have completed the loan signing of Spanish international Marco Asensio from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The Midlands club confirmed the arrival of the former Real Madrid star on their official website on Monday.
“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the loan signing of three-time Champions League winner Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain,” the statement read.
Asensio, a 38-cap Spanish international, joins Villa on a season-long loan until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
The 28-year-old boasts an illustrious career, having won multiple European and domestic titles with Real Madrid before adding league and cup honors in France. Comfortable both as a winger and an attacking midfielder, he played a key role in Spain’s UEFA Nations League triumph in 2023.
Prior to his move, Asensio registered two goals and four assists in 12 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG this season.
His arrival follows Aston Villa’s loan acquisition of Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, further strengthening Unai Emery’s attacking options.
