Zurich, Switzerland— FIFA has partnered with Adidas to introduce the Official Match Ball for the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup.
The newly unveiled ball combines a vibrant design with cutting-edge technology, tailored to enhance gameplay during the much-anticipated tournament hosted by the United States.
According to FIFA, the ball’s design honors the rich cultural heritage of the host nation, showcasing bold graphics inspired by the U.S. flag. A pearlescent backdrop features jagged block patterns and fragmented stars and stripes in red, white, and blue.
Engineered for optimal accuracy, the ball incorporates a 20-panel structure known as PRECISIONSHELL, featuring strategically placed debossed grooves on its outer surface.
Furthermore, it boasts integrated connected ball technology, capable of transmitting inertial measurement unit (IMU) data to the video assistant referee (VAR) system at an impressive rate of 500 transmissions per second.
This innovative feature ensures accurate, real-time data for enhanced match officiating during the competition.
