Abuja, Nigeria— The Federal Capital Territory Tax Practitioners Association (FCT TPA) has officially announced the election of Mr. Ajakpomevi Uziewe as its 5th Chairman, marking a new leadership era for the professional body.
The announcement was made in a statement issued in Abuja by the association’s Secretariat. The FCT TPA consists of tax professionals who are members of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), and the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), all practicing within the FCT.
Mr. Uziewe, Managing Partner at Ajakpomevi Uziewe & Co., brings to the role decades of professional experience in tax, assurance, and financial management. He holds a degree in Accounting from the University of Benin (UNIBEN) and is a Fellow of both the CITN and ICAN. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigation of Nigeria.
Throughout his career, Mr. Uziewe has held significant roles in both private practice and corporate settings, including at Abuja Clinics, Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, Oakcliff Global Synergy Limited, and Anija Okoye & Co.
The FCT TPA reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its collaboration with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), with the aim of enhancing effective tax administration and fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between taxpayers and revenue authorities in the territory.
In closing, the association expressed confidence in Mr. Uziewe’s leadership and vision to advance its mission, stating that his tenure promises to build on the association’s legacy of professionalism, accountability, and impactful engagement in Nigeria’s evolving tax environment.
