CHELSEA starlet Levi Colwill wants to communicate to Mauricio Pochettino before dedicating to a new contract, according to reports.
The highly-rated defender has two years remaining on his recent Blues deal.
Colwill, 20, spent last season on loan at Brighton, and the Seagulls have had two continual bids rejected by the West Londoners.
Chelsea have tabled a new long-term contract offer to the centre-back.
But according to the Standard, the Cobham academy graduate will require assurances over his game time from his new boss.
Pochettino is believed to be a huge fan of Colwill.
Manchester City and Liverpool are speculateded to be among the clubs interested in signing Colwill, should he become available.
In addition to Badiashile, he is set to compete with Thiago Silva and Wesley Fofana for first team football, should he stay at Stamford Bridge.
Pochettino, 51, is set to take his first training session as Chelsea boss on Monday.
