Abuja, Nigeria — The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the immediate closure of its national secretariat in Abuja to mourn the tragic death of its Director of Administration, Hon. Lateef AbdulRaif Adeniji.
The closure, confirmed in an official memo dated April 10, 2025, was signed by Ubagba Abel, the Deputy Director of Administration. The decision follows the reported killing of Adeniji, who was kidnapped nearly two months ago in Abuja.
Despite efforts to secure his release, including the payment of a N50 million ransom, several sources indicate that Adeniji was killed by his abductors, prompting widespread sorrow within the party.
The internal memo titled “Secretariat Closure for the Mourning of the Director of Administration” urged all party staff to observe the mourning period with solemn reflection and to keep the bereaved family in their prayers.
“The National Secretary has approved the closure of the national secretariat from all party and work-related activities with immediate effect until Monday, April 14, 2025,” the statement read.
