Las Vegas police has confirmed the arrest of Duane “Keffe D” Davis in connection with the murder of Legendary rapper Tupac Shakur at a news conference and in court after 27 years.
The American rapper who was considered as one of the most influential and successful rappers of all time was murdered on September 13, 1996, at age 25.
Since his death, his killer’s identity remained a mystery
Davis who was in the scene of the murder the night Tupac was killed has long been known as one of four suspects identified early in the investigation, although Davis has long claimed he was not one of the shooters but attributed it to his cousin Orlando Anderson.
Keffe D who is now in his 60’s was arrested near his home in the outskirt of Las Vegas
Police homicide Lt. Jason Johansson, said @Duane Davis was the shot caller for this group of individuals that committed this crime”, and that he orchestrated the plan that was carried out.
The announcement has sparked comments on X from fans and supporters.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the family of rapper Tupac Shakur has waited 27 years for justice.
