Olamide Reconnects With Asake on New Track ‘99’

Lagos, NigeriaNigerian rap icon Olamide Adedeji has rekindled his musical chemistry with Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, through a new single titled ‘99’, featured on his forthcoming self-titled album ‘Olamide’.

The star-studded track, which also includes appearances from Young Jonn, Seyi Vibez, and UK-based artist Daecolm, is part of a 17-track album slated for release on June 18, 2025.

Produced by Willis, ‘99’ showcases a fusion of top talents from the Afrobeats scene. The album also includes earlier releases such as ‘Hello Habibi’, ‘Metaverse’, and ‘Uptown Disco’, which features Fireboy and Asake.

Asake’s appearance on the track follows his February 2025 launch of Giran Republic, his independent record label. He also debuted his first single ‘Why Love’ under the new imprint, prompting speculation of a possible rift with Olamide’s YBNL Nation, where he was formerly signed.

However, his collaboration on ‘99’ appears to dispel those rumors, signaling that their professional bond remains unbroken.

The video for ‘99’ is expected to drop shortly, adding to the excitement ahead of the album’s release.

This marks Olamide’s 11th studio album. In April, he teamed up with Wizkid for ‘Kai’, their first collaboration since ‘Omo To Shan’ in 2011.
