Saudi Arabia announces Sunday as first day of Eid Al Fitr

Nigeria: Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court has officially announced that Sunday, March 30, 2025, will mark the beginning of Eid Al Fitr, following the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon on Saturday.

The Royal Court made the announcement, confirming that the holy month of Ramadan has come to an end and the Islamic month of Shawwal has begun. Eid Al Fitr celebrations will commence with special prayers on Sunday morning, followed by festive gatherings with family and community.

The declaration was made after the crescent moon was spotted in multiple locations across the Kingdom, signaling the end of Ramadan and the start of Shawwal. In line with the holiday, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has declared a four-day break for private and non-profit sector workers, from Sunday, March 30, to Wednesday, April 2.
