Nigeria – The Federal Government has declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government. In a statement released by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, the minister extended his congratulations to Muslims across the country on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim faithful to uphold the values of love, generosity, and peace, emphasizing their role in fostering national unity and religious harmony. He also called on Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for the progress and prosperity of the nation.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to promoting religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among citizens, encouraging everyone to celebrate the festive period responsibly.
