Damaturu, Nigeria — The Yobe State House of Assembly has passed an amendment bill seeking to enhance the operations of the Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YOCHMA), moving it forward for gubernatorial approval.
The bill, which aims to improve the administration and effectiveness of the state’s healthcare system, now awaits Governor Mai Mala Buni’s endorsement to become law.
Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio, reaffirmed the legislature’s commitment to collaborating with the executive arm to strengthen healthcare services. He expressed confidence that the amendment would enhance YOCHMA’s efficiency, ensuring better access to affordable and quality healthcare for Yobe residents.
Once signed into law, the revised legislation is expected to establish a more structured and effective healthcare framework, leading to improved service delivery and better health outcomes across the state.
