Nigeria: The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has emphasized the importance of continuous learning and professional development in the aviation sector
Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, highlighted the significance of ongoing training and development, citing her own enriching experience with the Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme (AMPAP).
Mrs. Kuku praised AMPAP’s practical approach, which combines theoretical learning with real-life case studies, providing participants with a clearer understanding of how to apply knowledge to real-world situations. She encouraged participants to remain committed to completing the required modules, noting that the program is globally recognized.
FAAN’s investment in professional development was commended by Mrs. Oluwasola Awe, Board Member representing Africa in the AMPAP IAP Alumni Group. She noted that FAAN’s involvement with AMPAP began in 2008, and despite initial challenges, the authority has emerged as a leading contributor to Nigeria’s growing pool of International Airport Professionals (IAPs). With 41 out of Nigeria’s 46 certified IAPs being FAAN staff, Nigeria has solidified its status as a leader in airport management across Africa.
