Abuja, Nigeria — President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Shaikh Modibbo Ibrahim Daware, a highly revered Islamic scholar from Adamawa State.
Shaikh Daware, a prominent figure in the Tijjaniyya sect, devoted his life to spiritual guidance, scholarship, and community development, leaving a lasting impact on many.
In a statement issued by Presidential Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu paid tribute to the late scholar’s humility, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to Islamic teachings. He described his passing as a great loss not only to his family and followers but to the entire nation.
The President extended his heartfelt condolences to the Adamawa State Government, Shaikh Daware’s family, and his numerous disciples, acknowledging the scholar’s profound influence on society.
Tinubu also prayed for divine mercy upon the late cleric’s soul, emphasizing that his legacy of faith, knowledge, and selfless service will continue to inspire generations.
