Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government has set February 17, 2025, as the final deadline for civil servants to update their records on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), warning that non-compliance could result in salary suspension.
The directive, issued through a memo from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF), underscores the government’s commitment to eliminating ghost workers, enhancing payroll transparency, and preventing financial leakages within the civil service.
Despite multiple extensions in the past, this latest announcement signals a firm stance on enforcing compliance. “Following the Treasury Circular Ref. No. TRY/A6&B6/2024-OAGF/CAD/026/Vol. V/910 issued on June 27, 2024, and a subsequent extension on August 16, 2024, the AGF has approved a final extension of the OAGF-IPPIS Payroll Validation Portal from February 10 to 17, 2025,” the memo states.
Civil servants are required to verify their details at designated IPPIS verification centers across the country. Ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) have been urged to ensure their employees complete the process before the deadline to avoid disruptions in salary payments.
