Six England fans have been issued football banning orders due to disturbances before the Euro 2024 match against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen on June 16.
The UK Football Policing Unit (UKFPU) has been working closely with German authorities throughout the tournament.
The banning orders prohibit the individuals from attending both domestic matches and England internationals for the duration of their bans.
Mick Johnson, head of the UKFPU, commended the prompt action, underscoring the message that there are consequences for those causing disorder at home or abroad.
“We continue to work closely with our German policing colleagues and have a team of UK officers deployed overseas to support their efforts in ensuring a safe tournament,” Johnson stated.
“We want traveling fans to enjoy themselves but urge them to drink responsibly, respect local culture, and avoid getting involved in disorder.”
Todd Hines, 21, Liam Jackson, 28, and Kyran Alcock, 28, have received three-year football banning orders, while Lewis Dodsworth, 29, Jack Hatton, 27, and Gary McIvor, 38, have been issued five-year bans.
Additionally, four other fans have appeared in UK courts and were bailed under conditions to surrender their passports.
The UKFPU continues to investigate several other fans suspected of involvement in the pre-match disorder before England’s 1-1 draw against Serbia.
