2Baba’s Mother Pleads With Edo Lawmaker to ‘Free Her Son’

Abuja, Nigeria –  The mother of music icon Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia has made a public appeal, urging Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru to release her son.

In an emotional video that surfaced online Thursday evening, Mrs. Rose Idibia expressed concern over her son’s well-being, stating that he is not in the right frame of mind due to his ongoing divorce from actress Annie Idibia.

“My son is going through a tough time. He is not himself,” she said, calling on Nigerian mothers to help appeal to Osawaru to “free him.”

She also alleged that Osawaru has placed mystical beads on 2Baba’s hand and neck, urging her to remove them.

Her plea follows a viral video in which 2Baba was seen proposing to Osawaru during a gathering. The singer and lawmaker were captured dancing before he presented her with a ring, sparking widespread speculation.

The engagement confirmation comes just a day after 2Baba publicly admitted to being in a romantic relationship with Osawaru, further fueling social media reactions.

Addressing the controversy, 2Baba took to Instagram to defend his relationship, dismissing claims that Osawaru was responsible for his marriage breakdown.

“She had nothing to do with what happened between Annie and me. She is an amazing woman, and I love her,” he stated.

Natasha Osawaru  represents the Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
