The President of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed to Nigerians of his commitment to making citizens’ lives better.
The President re-echoed this assurance while receiving the Class of 1999 Governors, who called on him at the State House, Abuja.
As the Governor of Lagos State at that time, the visit was nostalgic in nature, during which pleasantries were exchanged.
Wearing the face of the happiness generated by the meeting, the leader of the delegation and former Governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion said the President had asked Nigerians to trust his lead.
“Mr President assured us that it is his dream to see a better Nigeria, and he wants us to also let you know that the decisions that he has taken so far might be painful, but it is just a childbirth. In order to celebrate a child, you, must go through labour, therefore Nigerians should wait patiently and believe him that he is going to come up with palliatives that would put smiles on the faces of every one of us”, he said.
He said the meeting discussed insecurity, unemployment, and constant power supply to promote peace, stability, development, and wealth creation.
According to Mr. Igbinedion, the meeting realised that the changes initiated by the government would make people to gradually re-discover their proper placements and live within their means.
He said their visit to the President was to demonstrate their loyalty and support to the Nigeria Project devoid of politics.
The Class of 1999 Governors called on Nigerians to also support the President’s efforts at building a better Nigeria.
