Wood Fires Forest Past Brentford 3-1

Nottingham, England— Chris Wood’s brace lifted Nottingham Forest to a commanding 3-1 victory over Brentford at the City Ground on Sunday.

Forest wasted no time as Wood struck within five minutes to put Nuno Espírito Santo’s men in front. Soon after, Dan Ndoye doubled the advantage before Wood calmly rounded new Brentford goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher to make it 3-0 before halftime.

Brentford, under new manager and ex-set-piece coach Keith Andrews, failed to find rhythm in their Premier League opener. A late penalty from Igor Thiago offered little consolation as the West London side slumped to defeat in the Midlands.

The win provided relief for Forest boss Nuno, who had voiced worries about squad depth heading into the new campaign.
