The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has asserted his independence and autonomy in decision-making regarding infrastructure projects in the FCT.
During the flag-off of the Kwaita-Yebu Road project in Kwali Area Council, which is estimated to cost N7 billion, Wike made it clear that he does not require anyone’s permission other than that of the President, Bola Tinubu, to proceed with such initiatives.
Amid criticism from FCT Senator Ireti Kingibe, who questioned the impact of Wike’s infrastructure projects on the lives of FCT residents, Wike emphasized that he does not need approval from anyone else to pursue projects that he deems necessary.
He dismissed accusations of solely focusing on road construction, stating that his administration is dedicated to making significant contributions to the development of the FCT.
