The Eruwa Youth Movement has on Thursday organised a peaceful protest in Eruwa, Oyo state to draw the attention of the State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to issues affecting the town.
Eruwa Youth Movement and Federation of Eruwa Student Union leaders delivered passionate speeches, urging the government and relevant authorities to take immediate action.
The town’s Youth are actively involved in the protest demanding for resolution of kingship issues, adequate facilities in public healthcare centres, motorable roads and many more.
They also emphasised on poor electricity supply, inadequate water supply, and unfair treatment of community members.
The peaceful protest saw a massive turnout as the protesters were seen holding placards and chanting slogans.
The protest ended with a submission of a formal petition to the local government, emphasising the urgent need for addressing these pressing issues.
The Eruwa community were said to remain united in their quest for positive change and improvement in their living conditions.
The town is said to have been without a king for about 5years.
Eruwa is 72 km south west of Ibadan and 60 km north east of Abeokuta.
