Warri Refinery Back in Operation, Confirms NNPCL

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced the resumption of operations at the Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company (WRPC), which processes 125,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

NNPCL’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, revealed this milestone during a tour of the facility on Monday, affirming that the refinery, though not fully completed, is operational.

“Many people think such things are impossible in this country. We are here to show that it is real,” Kyari stated. Accompanying him on the tour was the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed.
