US Ban: Biden Says Trump Will Determine TikTok’s Fate

Washington, D.C. —  The outgoing Biden administration announced on Friday that the decision to enforce a ban on China’s widely used TikTok app in the United States will rest with incoming President Donald Trump.

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre acknowledged the timing of the situation, noting that the responsibility for implementing the law now falls to the next administration.

“Given the sheer fact of timing, this Administration recognizes that actions to implement the law simply must fall to the next Administration,” Jean-Pierre said in a statement.

The announcement followed the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold a law banning TikTok on national security grounds, leaving its enforcement as a priority for the Trump administration.

The controversial ban has sparked debates over privacy, security, and U.S.-China relations, with the future of the app in the U.S. remaining uncertain.
