Unknown man killed in his room overnight in Taraba State

The Taraba State Police Command has confirmed the death of a man killed in his house by unknown persons.

The incident was reportedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday in Nyivu, a community in Donga Local Government Council in Taraba State.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Usman, said the victim was macheted to death in his bedroom and the killers are still unknown.

He strongly affirmed that the command has commenced an investigation, stating that detectives will work round the clock to unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome killing.

Usman advised the people of the community that has useful information on the perpetrators not to hesitate to reach out to the command.

A member of the victim’s family, who also confirmed the brutal killing, said the suspects found their way to the room while they were all asleep.

Other respondents who spoke described the killing as a bad shock to them and the community at large and urged the state government to roll out its security initiatives to track the perpetrators of the killing.

They also stressed the need for the government to collaborate with relevant agencies to strengthen security around the area, which is located along the Marraraba-Takum road.
