Two Killed in Early Morning Crash on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

In the early hours of Monday, a tragic accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, resulting in the deaths of two individuals traveling in a commercial vehicle. The crash, which took place along the long bridge, was attributed to road demarcation and driver fatigue by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the FRSC in Ogun State, confirmed the incident in a statement, noting that one person also sustained injuries in the accident.

The crash, reported at 5:38 a.m., involved a Mazda bus with the registration number EDE 217 XB and a MAN Diesel truck, marked AJL 715 XA.

“The injured victim was transported to Hopeland Hospital in Warewa, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the morgue at Real Divine Hospital in Ibafo,” Okpe stated.

FRSC Sector Commander Akinwumi Fasakin urged motorists to remain vigilant while driving and emphasized the importance of taking breaks to prevent fatigue, which can lead to such tragic incidents.
